KONKAN MARATHA YOUTH WING
MINUTES OF MEETING
DATE: 19 JULY 2009 VENUE: ADV. PRASAD NAIK’S OFFICE
The first meeting was attended by 9 members. The meeting was called to discuss about formation of youth wing of our samaj, the Konkan Maratha Samaj.
Yogesh Sawant was appointed as the Secretary for the meeting. (Proposed by Rajesh Naik & Seconded by Sudhir Desai)
Advocate Prasad Naik suggested the name for the group as “Konkan Maratha Youth Wing” which was unanimously accepted.
Punch lines/motive of the group was discussed. Few members came with following punch lines:-
1. Empowering youth
2. We are for the future
No punch line was selected as members felt that more such punch lines may come up in future.
Age criteria: Age criteria of the members was discussed and accepted as 18-40yrs (both completed) as proposed by Ms. Saloni Naik.
Membership fees: Membership fees for membership was discussed in length & finally accepted as Rs. 2000/-(life time) or Rs. 200/-per year. It was decided to give both the options for the members for fee payment.
Tenure of committee: The tenure of elected committee was accepted as 12 months i.e calendar year. The committee will have following positions namely,
1) President
2) Vice President
3) Secretary
4) Joint Secretary
5) Treasurer
6) Joint Treasurer and five Incharge of different Areas Of Empowerment.
Areas of Empowerment (AOE): Rajesh proposed 5 areas of Empowerment namely,
1) Individual Development
2) Business Development
3) Career Development
4) Community Development &
5) Programs.
It was decided to have one person heading each AOEs. It was decided that all programs would be held under any one of this category. These five AOE would ensure that each and every youth of our Samaj would be benefited one way or the other.
ADHOC committee: Adv, Prasad Naik proposed that we have an Adhoc committee which will function till the end of the calendar year 2009. An election would then be held in December 2009 to form the new committee for the year 2010. The members volunteered to be the part of the ADHOC committee.
The ADHOC committee is as follows:

Jt. Secretary : Chandan Salunke
Treasurer : Prasad Naik
Joint Treasurer : Saloni Naik
Committee Members : Shekhar Sawant, Namrata Naik, Rahul Pawar
Prasad Naik proposed that we register the wing under Society Act. He took the responsibility of the same.
Use of Technology: Rajesh suggested that we create a Blog and yahoo group in the name of the youth wing as use of the technology would enable us to reach to more members.
Blogs:- Namrata Naik took the initiative to create the blog. The name would likely be http//kmyw.blogspot.com
Yahoo Group formation:- Saloni Naik took the lead in formation of group in Yahoo.
Opening account: It was also decided to open an account in the Union Bank and have three signatories, operated by any two. The 3 signatory would be- 1) President 2) Secretary 3) Treasurer.
Saloni & Prasad jointly took the responsibility of opening an account in the bank.
Next Meeting: It was discussed that 2nd of August 2009 would be the next meeting of the group. Venue was not finalized. Every members is expected to get atlest 2 more members for the next meeting cum get-together.
